Guided imagery meditation: 5 simple ways to make your meditation extra relaxing

Let's not beat around the bush. Working, dating and taking care of a home is a lot of work. While spending a day at a luxury day spa and 3-hour massage therapy are fantastic ways to relax, we don't always have the time or money to do so. There are many ways to make our days extra nice and comfortable. If you're currently practicing meditation, consider the following tips.

1. Find a new location
One of the most fun (and often easiest) ways to add excitement to your meditation routine is to meditate at a new, beautiful location. Gardens, quiet beaches at dusk, or even at your own yard.  Being outdoor helps you to appreciate the beauty of nature. The gentle sounds of waves, wind and flowing creeks can help us completely relax.

2. Put flowers in the room
Flowers are magical when it comes to their power to make people happy. Try putting lilies and roses in the room before you meditate. The beautiful smell of flowers can put us at ease and release our tensed muscles.

3. Use a few drops of aroma oil

If you don't have the time to buy flowers, aroma oil is a great alternative. Fill your diffuser with water and a few drops of aroma oil, in a few minutes your room will be filled with fragrance that makes you feel beautiful and clam. Roses, lavender, camomile sauvage and sandalwood have calming effects and they are perfect for people who want to relax completely.

4. Choose a special guided meditation program
It is not just the environment or the smell that can help us unwind. The meditation program itself matters, too. If you want a bit of variety in your meditation journey, try imagery meditation programs that are a little different. Instead of visiting secret gardens, try flying over a well illuminated city at night or even going back thousands of years in time and visit the ancient world.

5. Smile
When we smile we become less tensed. Think about something funny or sweet before you meditate, you will find it easier to let go of thoughts.

A little advanced planning can multiply the relaxation effect of guided meditation. Guided imagery meditation can help you rediscover inner peace, try it today.
